palmer.net.au is a small medical computing company based in Brisbane, Australia specialising in the use of the internet in Anaesthesia specifically and Medicine in general. The company is run me, Dr Allan Palmer, an Anaesthetist working in various hospitals around Brisbane.
Originally from England, I came out to Australia 15 years ago to work as a Lecturer in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at The University of Queensland where I instigated several internet related projects in the area of online education. Though I subsequently left the university I maintained this interest and have provided computing support and development for numerous projects since.
This Blog and subsequent developments marks my return to home territory after my wanderings around the net for the past decade or so.
The technology world is making great strides in the use of the Web 2.0 technologies to foster understanding of its domain by the general public. This project, Medical Musings, of which the Blog is an initial component, is my attempt to do the same for medicine!
